Don’t Ghost Me Now! Whahahaaaaa……

OCTOBER NEWSLETTER
Greetings from the road in Texas where in Marshall, I had the honour to be invited as a judge on the annual Texas Sounds International CMA Competition last week. The competition prides itself as the “Olympics of Country Music” and celebrates 25 singers from 15 countries, some of whom I will be sure to invite back to play for you in the future! In fact, the winner of best entertainer in 2024 was Switzerland’s very own Florian Fox, and look how well he has done since then 😊. This year’s stand out performers and winners will be at the end of the newsletter, and see my Instagram videos & story highlights for behind the scenes and real time action of the event!
And before that, what a fabulous September it was hosting the talented and passionate Blues-Rock innovators Katie O’Malley and Ben Gorb of Katie and the Bad Sign to play and tour in Switzerland. If you came to a show, thank you - I’m sure you will agree it was quite a treat, and for those who missed them this time, help me lobby the Blues Festival to get them a slot with the full band 😉 … that really would be epic!
And for Robyn Red fans, I have some exciting news, which is that she has been chosen to play at the 41st Albisguetli Country Festival in Zurich on Friday February 26th and this will coincide with her new EP European release tour, accompanied by the High End Band and (hopefully) John Laufenberg on fiddle once again. Watch this space!
As for NOW…. Here is the next thing to get organised for to buy a ticket and invite your buddies and some friendly werewolves! The inaugural MIDNIGHT HOWL an immersive concert & Halloween party featuring Scottish Alt-country artist Anton O’Donnell (like you’ve never seen him before… trust me!) and the Croatian/ Swiss Blues Brothers inspired Dan Elwood & his Twisted Smoke Band, here to entertain and cause some chaos at the iconic Baronessa Club in Lenzburg as we manifest a graveyard smash featuring Rocky Horror styled Bob Dylan and ghosts of the Blues Brothers! We have a license until 2am, so let’s make the most of it. And, if you fancy yourself on stage as part of a jam session, you are invited to bring an instrument and join in, just please let me know in advance. All the details are on the She Interacts Events page and tickets must be bought from this link to Eventfrog . Fancy Dress is fun, but also optional, and there will be free drinks and prizes up for grabs. And, finally if you would like the chance for a free ticket and are happy to work a shift on the bar, please let me know- we are looking to put a small team together.
So now you have your tickets, it’s time to reveal the Texas Sounds winners who you might recognise because the UK’s Savannah Gardner, who last November played our Songwriter Showcase in Ennetbaden, won Female Vocalist of the Year! She really was fantastic, and I can’t wait to get her back to play in the spring. Amber Rae, from Switzerland also took home some metalware winning best Trio with her guitarists, and outperformed the others with incredible harmonies. For more names to look out for we will post a tailored letter and a video, but suffice to say it was a great experience and provided some fabulous networking with the super hospitable and music-centred folks of Marshall Texas, and it was a wonderful initiative to be a part of.
Finally! Before I go and attempt to Two-Step in Austin (name dropping, I know 😉), Brooke Law is coming back in a couple of weeks to visit, and if anyone would like to see her play, or has an idea of a new and fun spontaneous location give us a shout! She could be available on Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th anywhere within an hour of Baden. It’s not an official tour, but could be an opportunity for us all! And, keep the week of November 14th in your mind, and your eyes on the She Interacts channels as that’s when Texas Cowboys Aaron Copeland and Jason Allen will be returning to Swiss soil to tour as a duo for us!
Bringing people, places, performances and fun to you always,
Rock ‘n’ Roll Grüsse,
Sarah
