So things ARE happening ... July

So things ARE happening! We have so many fun things coming up, all over Switzerland, as well as  a new collaboration in Scotland, I really can’t wait and I really hope that soon I will be dancing with you at all these shows. Before I start on what’s next, a quick thank you to Don Diego trio, James Gray, Two Ways Home, Anton O’Donnel and Brooke Law for their fabulous appearances in Spring and early Summer – It certainly won’t be the last time we host any of those fabulous musicians and some of my favourite human beings! 

First up, we have a small Texas invasion in the form of Josh and Kristi Grider, and fiddle player John Laufenberg, who some of you may remember played with James Lann back in August 2024 at Kandertal Festival. I met Josh in March 2025 when I was invited as part of his crew to the Houston Rodeo, where he was playing at the “Hideout” and ever since he has been keen to come to Switzerland. His new tour is a collaboration with his wife Kristi, and I can’t wait to hear their new material and especially the harmonies! 

Opportunities to see them play include Henry’s Baden on Thursday 23^rd (trio) and Zimmerwald Country Night on Saturday 25^th featuring the Alex Klein Band, then further duo shows at the “Rocky Pop” in Grenoble France (tell your friends!) on 30^thJuly, and in Verbier at the  “Alp and Horn” on Friday 31^st. And, If anyone wants to show them a good time back in Baden on August 1^st, for Swiss National Day, do please let me know ( I won’t be here)! 

As for the Scotland connection, we have Robyn Red coming back to Switzerland to play Zimmerwald (in Bern) together with John Laufenberg on fiddle which is a collaboration I’m very excited about! If you haven’t got your ticket yet, Zimmerwald is really close to Bern, and Saturday 25^th July is going to be AWESOME! All the details and links are on my website, and if anyone is around, and keen for a little acoustic show a deux with Robyn and John on Sunday 26^th, this could also be arranged 😊

As promised, She Interacts is building some new shows and collaborations in Scotland, and this year will be the inaugural Solway Hoedown in Kippford, Dumfries and Galloway on August 2^nd. It’s a place close to my heart, and a fabulous new opportunity to work with local businesses and bring Scottish and Texan artists together. On the basis that most of you are based in Switzerland, I won’t go into the details, but thank you Sebastian for the hard work on the branding, and if you would like to check it out, here are the links. 

From August we are back to Kandertal, this year only with one She Interacts Artist, but as some of you may remember, he really is fabulous! Mr Lonely Drum himself, a favourite with Line Dancers and modern country fans alike, Aaron Goodvin is coming to Switzerland for only the second time. And, if you were at the iconic House Concert last time, you won’t have forgotten!! Aaron is headlining the festival on Saturday 15^th August, and “You Don’t want to be there” SAID NO REDNECK EVER (cue a tip to check out his latest single and video so you can sing along with him!)

Other opportunities to see Aaron play up close and acoustic are in conjunction with Bea Bevents and Maples Dance Hall in Rothenburg on Thursday 13^th August, and at T’s BBQ in Wil St Gallen on Friday 14^th August. Acclaimed UK singer-songwriter Matt Hodges returns to Switzerland on Friday 21st August. He'll be playing a special show at Goldwand Vinyard in Ennetbaden. And finally, please SAVE THE DATE for a spooky and bluesy Halloween Concert and party, when on Saturday Oct 31^st, THE MIDNIGHT HOWL will be coming to the Baronessa in Lenzberg- a line up, opportunity to dress up, and mood you won’t want to miss!
